Man injured in army assault yet to regain conciousness

December 29, 2016

A Rohingya man is in a critical condition after being assaulted by Tatmadaw personal in Da Bru Chang, Buthidaung.

Md Yasin was returning from his work in the fields on Tuesday when the soldiers intercepted him at around 4pm.

It could not be known what transpired with them as Yasin has not yet gained consciousness following the attack. He has not received any medical assistance as Rohingyas in the area don’t have access to such facilities.

The government has systematically blocked all medical facilities to the Rohingyas since 2012 leading to allegations this is a strategy to force the Muslim community out of the country.

Hundreds of Rohingyas, many of them bullet ridden in the recent crackdown have received no medical treatment.
